This Ithaca Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (IEJATC) accepts applications online year round. You can apply by visiting APPLY ONLINE page, and following the instructions. Interviews are conducted twice per year, in January and in June.

You must obtain a score of 4 or higher on the Electrical Training Alliance/AIR aptitude test in order to qualify for an interview. If you do not obtain a score of 4 or higher, you will be eligible to retake the test again 6 months after the initial testing date. Qualifying test scores are good for a period of two (2) years. If you reapply after that period you will be rescheduled to retake the test.
Filling out the application generally takes between twenty (20) and thirty (30) minutes. Filling out the application is the first step in completing the application process. You are also required to provide a resume, and three personal letters of reference. These items may be submitted electronically via email to TrainingDirector@IthacaJATC.com.
No experience in the electrical field is required to apply for apprenticeship. The Ithaca Electrical JATC provides all of the required classroom and on-the-job training in order for you to learn to work safely and efficiently in the electrical industry.
You can expect the jobsites to be located anywhere within the IBEW Local 241 geographical area.
Apprentices attend classes at our Training Center which is located at 134 Cecil A. Malone Drive in Ithaca, New York.
There are currently no fees associated with the application process but, that may change in the future.
