Do You Qualify?

To meet minimum qualifications for apprenticeship, an applicant must:

 

a. be a at least 18 years of age.

b. be a high school graduate or have a GED.

c. have completed and passed one year of basic algebra 

d. possess a valid drivers license.

e. receive a qualifying score on the aptitude test

 

Prior to being accepted into the program, individuals selected from the pool of interviewed applicants will be required to provide results of a physical examination and a drug/alcohol test as decided by the IEJATC.

APPLICATION PROCESS


The Ithaca Electrical JATC conducts interviews twice yearly - in January and in June. The deadline for submitting required documents is December 1st for an opportunity for a January interview; May 1st for an opportunity for a June interview. 


If you are interested in applying to the apprenticeship program, fill out an online application (forms page). 


After submitting your application form, you are also required to submit the following documentation via email to TrainingDirector@IthacaJATC.com. These documents may also be sent via U.S. mail or dropped off in person at 134 Cecil A. Malone Drive, Ithaca, NY 14850.


  • Recent resume
  • Three personal letters of reference. These letters should be from people who can speak to your character and ability to succeed in the apprenticeship program


After you are offered a position in our electrical apprenticeship program, you will need to submit the following documentation prior to being indentured into the program. You should have these documents readily available to avoid a delay in entering the program. 

  • High School and College transcripts; these should be official transcripts and may be emailed/sent directly from the institution
  • Copy of your GED, if applicable
  • Any other documentation for certifications or training tfor which you were are given credit during the interview process
  • If you are a U.S. Military veteran, you will need to submit a copy of your DD214 and register with the Helmets to Hardhats program at https://helmetstohardhats.org


When you have completed all the steps listed, and if you meet the minimum requirements, you will be scheduled to take an aptitude test at our Training Center.
