Aptitude Test
After submitting your resume and three letters of reference, you will be scheduled to take the American Institute for Research [AIR] Aptitude test. The test is given here at our Training Center at 134 Cecil A. Malone Drive, Ithaca, NY. You must obtain a qualifying score of 4 or higher in order to be considered for an oral interview.
The test takes about two hours and consists of two portions - a math section and a reading comprehension section. Sample aptitude test questions can be found online at https://electricaltrainingalliance.org/SamplePage .
Your test score is valid for two years from the date the test is taken, You cannot retake the aptitude for a minimum of 6 months after your previous attempt.
If you are a person with a physical or mental impairment (including learning disabilities) that you believe may affect your ability to complete any aspect of the application process (including testing), and if you need an accommodation to ensure that the test battery accurately measures your skills and abilities, you must notify the EIJATC before, or as soon as you are scheduled to take the AIR Electrical Aptitude Test Battery.
